The Sirius-type Demon Hunter Gundam debuted in the second season of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans." This new form, a refurbished version of the battle-damaged Demon Hunter Gundam, features upgraded outer armor for better close-quarters combat and is equipped with new weaponry such as a sword-shaped hammer-spear and a 200mm wrist cannon. The "Alaya-vijnana System" has also been further analyzed and adjusted based on past combat data, resulting in improved overall performance.

Compared to regular SD Gundam, the "SD Gundam EX-Standard" series features elongated limbs and more articulated joints. The smaller head and torso also give the machine a more slender appearance, and it achieves a high level of completion simply by using color-correcting stickers. The "Sirius-type Demon Hunter Gundam" retains its slender appearance from the series and boasts excellent articulation, even allowing for dual-wielding sword poses. Included weapons are a sword-shaped hammer-spear and a 200mm wrist cannon. The weapon system, which can be linked with the HG series, is also a major feature of the series.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada, emphasizing its "highly dramatic" Gundam story. The mobile suits in the story evolve gradually as the narrative progresses. Furthermore, it's the first Gundam series without "beam weapons." The story takes place on a Martian colony under Earth's control, where economic poverty has led to numerous illegal transactions. However, Kudria, unable to act as the leader of an independence movement, is threatened by Doomsday Horn and seeks employment as a bodyguard at Chris's Security Company, where she encounters Mikazuki and Og.
