RX-93-ν-2 Hi-ν Gundam
Appearing in Char's novels "The Offspring of Beldchika" and "HIGH STREAMER" (the plots of the two novels are not entirely the same), it is a development model of the RX-93. Unlike the original machine, this machine underwent extensive testing before being deployed to the battlefield. Its performance is greatly improved compared to the RX-93. The biggest improvement is that its wing-shaped sensor cannon can be charged when it is in storage.
Although it did not appear in the anime, this machine is a very popular one, appearing in games such as Super Robot Wars, SD Gundam G Generation, and Gundam Battle Universe. It is usually shown as Amuro's final mobile suit.
In terms of design, the RX-93-2 differs significantly from the RX-93. Firstly, the funnels, originally stowed on one side of the back in their unfolded state, are now folded in half and stored on each side in the back charger, forming a more wing-like structure. The numerous attitude control nozzles added throughout the body greatly enhance the machine's agility. There are two fuel pipes on the lower back that also function as AMBAC devices. The paint scheme has also changed from the original black and white with touches of red and yellow to a white, royal blue, and silver-gray scheme. (A white and purple paint scheme was previously considered, but this design has been officially rejected.)
While the Hi-ν's appearance in the two novels is based on the aforementioned design, they have completely different styles. The "High-Altitude Streamer" version features a white and purple paint job, with an overall large and heavy feel. Many later games used this design for Hi-ν, and the 1990 Bandai figure was also based on this design (except the purple paint job was changed to blue). The "Gundam Battle Universe" version also uses a white and blue design. However, when Bandai released the Master Grade model of this machine in 2007, it was based on the relatively slender and thinner "Beizi" version, and this design was announced as the official design. This caused dissatisfaction among some fans.
